HOW CHILDREN ARE TROUBLED

WHY NEGLECT KIDS.........................

Children need care
Children in contemporary society are the most marginalized and vulnerable members whose welfare is neglected though their rights enshrined in the laws.

The law defines “child” to be any human being under the age of eighteen years and cases of violence against them is on the rise.

An elder aged 100, Solomon Chelogoi told the Famous South rift that in the past adults did not need to be reminded by the government arms but community and cultural values guided them to raise healthy children ready to accede to societal roles.

At this technological era, the society seems to be swayed by immorality and imbalanced social good, cases of violence against children are on the rise.

We have established that South Rift counties are not left behind; children from the age of 5 are found loitering in towns, along the roads, others being left to be hurt.

Apparently a boy identified by one name Kipkoech from Olenguruone in Nakuru County is admitted at Tenwek Mission Hospital after a neighbor aged 45 hurled a huge stone on his head leaving scary injuries.

His granpa said the boy aged 14 in class 6 being parented by a poor single- mother is undergoing operation on his head following the harm.

“The boy was found by a passer-by along the road almost dead and other children they played with him said a neighbor injured him using a stone but when asked denied the claims and refused to cater for hospital bills” he said.

During Prayer Day on Sunday 9, at AGC Lilloch Secondary School in Kipkelion, we spotted and talked to a boy (pictured) loitering alone at the event.

Need your love

The boy aged 8 named Kimutai with gash on his legs as his face evidenced signs of torture and hard life he was facing told us that his family had wrangles and the father has begged off to build a house.

A resident of Kibeneti said the boy has not started schooling due to battles in the family that has destabilized everything rendering children to merciless societal mars.

Violence against children remains a global nuisance depriving parental care, food, proper shelter and clothes.

Society should be vigilant against the abusers who are mostly; family members, intimate partners, teachers, neighbours, strangers and other children.

The hazards always result in pain and humiliation on children and deaths so you should not take for granted any child looking frustrated and rather take appropriate role by being a solution to their problems.
